I removed it once before – and watched the falls in great distress. Your story helps to relieve some of the guilt I still feel about that.

It also reminds me of the successes they experienced once they picked themselves up – and that my only mistake was handing the strap back to them.

Ha! I’m leaving a comment!:) I actually really like this story – I remember it from before. It’s a concept I really need to work on with my own kids. I tend to try and keep the “strap on” instead of letting them stretch their wings and realized it’s OK to fail, as long as you pick yourself up and try again. Thanks for the reminder.

Sometimes it takes another person to point out to others what they can do for themselves. I am just now figuring this out, at 37. We kind of fall into a saftey net of sorts in our lives and very rarely figure out that if we let go of it, if even for a little while we will suprise ourselves . So I thank you as I come across stumbling blocks knowing that I can achive .
